About Noldo

Noldo is building the operating system for public equity investors. We combine frontier AI with the information, workflows and expertise of top investors to create the place where an investor's research, judgement, and convictions compound alongside their capital.

Noldo's mission is to restore the world's confidence in free markets by helping everyone become better investors.

Noldo was founded in 2026 and is led by experienced founders with the backing of prominent investors. Our team is small and our systems, product and culture are still being defined. We're looking for exceptional builders that are highly motivated and want to make significant hands-on contribution.

If you want to help build compounding systems for investors, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As part of the founding engineering team, you'll be helping make the foundational architectural decisions that define what our platform becomes. You'll work directly with our founders to translate our product vision into working software. You'll own the full stack, independently build end-to-end and help set the engineering culture from day one.

This role is for someone who thrives with autonomy, collaborates effectively with others and can move fast without sacrificing craft. A strong work ethic, excellent communication, smart judgement and high standards of excellence are important. You must be comfortable working in an ambiguous fast-changing environment, make good decisions and own the outcome.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the first iteration of our product
  • Contribute to and help shape all engineering and technical decisions (frontend, backend, data infrastructure, and AI/ML integration)
  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable systems from scratch that balance velocity, product requirements, efficiency and our long-term business objectives
  • Ideate and collaborate meaningfully to product decisions, technical strategy and architectural trade-offs so we're building the right things in the right way
  • Develop our AI harness, including domain context and workflow logic, LLM orchestration, tooling, integrations, memory, evals and traces
  • Develop robust, high-performance pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage of structured and unstructured data
  • Iteratively build new features, balancing rapid prototyping with stability, security, and modularity
  • Implement and maintain observability tools and practices, such as metrics collection, logging, tracing and dashboards to provide real-time insights into system health
  • Help establish a world class AI engineering culture, internal systems and ways of working

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including at least one early-stage startup
  • Strong programming skills, with proven production experience in Typescript/Javascript or Python
  • Strong full-stack proficiency and demonstrated experience owning frontend, backend and infrastructure parts of the stack. You can build systems that hold up in production and are observable, recoverable, and reliable
  • Experience designing and operating scalable data pipelines (e.g. Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Spark, or equivalent)
  • Strong backend fundamentals - API design, data modelling, system design, performance optimisation
  • Demonstrated ability to move fast on what matters, while making smart trade-offs between speed and quality
  • Experience guiding technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap planning in fast-changing environments - even better if it's been applying AI
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to effectively share your knowledge, back-up your views and demonstrate good judgement

Highly Valued

  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production environments
  • Experience with prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, harnesses and architecting AI-powered systems
  • Experience in fintech or building products over financial data
  • Prior experience as a founding or early engineer — you understand what it means to build culture, not just code
  • Frontend experience with modern frameworks (react, tailwind, shadcn). You can ship a polished UI when needed

In-Office Working Culture

We work together full-time from our office in Surry Hills, Sydney. We believe this allows us to move faster, make better decisions and foster deeper relationships. As a team, our knowledge, trust and alignment compounds faster when we are in the room together. And we have way more fun building and winning together.

Compensation & Benefits

Your compensation will align with market rates and include a base salary, plus meaningful equity in our Company. We offer an environment where exceptional builders can do their best work and be rewarded for the outcomes they help create.

Come work with us!

To apply, send us your CV and tell us:

  • Something you've built that you're proud of and what made it hard - provide a link to your work so we can check out
  • Your honest take on what the biggest technical risks are in building a product like ours
  • What excites you about this problem space

Our interview process starts with a short screen where you will have a brief intro call, then a technical interview. If you progress, you'll then be given a practical task to present and discuss in-person with the core team you'll be working with day to day. This task will reflect the kind of work you'd do here and is designed to help us both see what it will be like working together. We'll then conduct some reference interviews.
